Shape the Future of Healthcare Education: Help us Stimulate Research in Digital Education!
Are you passionate about advancing digital education in healthcare? Join us for the next phase of our exciting project!
Following the success of our first workshop on February 5th, where participants delved deeply into key research questions and brainstormed ideas for future research opportunities, we’re expanding our efforts. Due to the high level of engagement and interest, we’re hosting five new workshops this May, each focused on exploring one research question in detail.
About the Project: Identifying Key Research Priorities in Digital Education for Healthcare
Digital technologies continue to transform the landscape of health professions education. To stay at the forefront of innovation, NHS England has launched a research initiative to address critical knowledge gaps that are currently unanswered in the scientific literature.
The goal of this project is to:
- Focus efforts and resources on areas that address existing evidence gaps in our knowledge and are key priorities for health professions education.
- Ensure future research is targeted and impactful, driving meaningful advancements in digital healthcare education.
Following a comprehensive systemic literature review and a 4-round Delphi, the following 5 research questions were identified as key priorities. This Workshop will focus on Question 2: How might we optimise use of AI, machine and deep learning to facilitate education and training?
This interactive 90-minute session will offer participants the chance to explore each question more thoroughly, consider how the questions could be answered, and share ongoing research aligned with the topics. Whether you’re looking to dive deeper into specific areas of interest or contribute to the broader research landscape, these workshops are the perfect opportunity to get involved. We would like for these sessions to foster connection within the ASME membership and solidify potential research proposals based on the question.
What to expect from attending?
- Connect with like-minded researchers: Join a growing network of professionals passionate about digital education research in healthcare.
- Stimulate research that meets known evidence gaps: Shape direction of research into digital education in the NHS.
- Discover exciting opportunities: Learn about funding and award opportunities related to this work.
What do attendees need to do before the workshop?
We invite all attendees to read the published journal article on the project, available here, with a special focus on the discussion section. Attendees should also come prepared with a reflective question for discussion with the group.
